What’s Going On On The Island

Even though we haven’t made it through Thanksgiving yet, the holiday season on LBI is already in full swing. The Jetty Holiday Village kicked things off this past Friday, and more events are rolling in this weekend — including the Ship Bottom Christmas tree lighting, Santa Claus at Viking Village, and several other festive happenings.

Hightlighted by the Ship Bottom Christmas Parade on December 6th — one of our favorite days of the year on the island.

In other island news, the longtime owners of Thundering Surf — the Wainwright family — have officially sold the waterpark to Fantasy Island, securing the future of one of LBI’s most iconic summer attractions.

What’s Going On In Real Estate

We’re entering the winter market with record-low inventory. Only 99 active listings remain on LBI — numbers we simply do not see in normal market conditions.

A wave of expired listings and minimal new inventory this past week officially closes out the fall market. If this continues, listings could dip into the 70s within the next month. Outside of the COVID surge, these levels are unprecedented.
