We are entering some of the very best weeks of Local Summer, as the island enjoys that perfect balance of warm weather, lighter crowds, and plenty of restaurants still open. The next two weeks leading up to Chowderfest (still not quite ready to embrace the new “Cook-Off” name) are some of the best for dining out on LBI. Many of the island’s top restaurants — like Stefano’s, La Riva, Barry's and Howard’s — remain open, so be sure to circle them before their doors close for the season in the coming weeks.
From a real estate standpoint, it was an unusually slow week, with only 6 new listings hitting the market. The question now is whether this is simply an anomaly, or a sign that we won’t see the same level of new fall inventory as in years past. Currently, we sit at 120 active listings, meaning we would need quite a surge to get close to the 186 active listings we peaked at last fall.
