It’s mealtime — and if you’re anything like us, you’re craving good food, a relaxed vibe, and something a little more exciting than chicken nuggets.
That’s why we’re kicking off our Weekly Family Favorite Restaurant Series — because nothing caps off an epic LBI day better than a local meal that makes the whole crew happy.
The Shell is LBI staple, serving up fresh seafood, sushi, and tropical drinks — all right on the beach. With live music and a laid-back, family-friendly vibe, it’s a go-to spot parents and kids both love.
🍽️ Recs for Adults:
Try the Sea Shell Fish Tacos with grilled Mahi Mahi, paired with a Summertime Sparkler cocktail for the ultimate beachside dinner.
🧒 Recs for Kids:
You can’t go wrong with the chicken tenders and fries. Add a Virgin Piña Colada, and the kids will be happy as clams!

Barnegat Lighthouse Night Climb
📅 When: Saturday, June 28th | 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM
📍 Where: Barnegat Lighthouse State Park

Climb “Old Barney” after hours and experience Long Beach Island from a whole new perspective!
Hosted by the Friends of Barnegat Lighthouse, this family-friendly evening climb offers a rare chance to explore the historic lighthouse under the stars. Take in panoramic nighttime views of Island Beach, Barnegat Bay, and LBI from the top — it’s 217 steps, but totally worth it.
After the climb, unwind around a community bonfire and enjoy the laid-back lighthouse vibes.
🧺 Make It a Night
Pack a sunset picnic, grab dinner at Kubel’s, or browse the shops at Viking Village to round out the evening.
💡 Pro Tips
– Bring blankets or chairs for the bonfire
– Wear sturdy shoes for the climb
– Pack a light jacket or sweater — it can get chilly after dark

My life is a blend of beach days, dance recitals, grocery runs and baseball games. I’m passionate about making memories with my crew, mornings by the ocean, Sunday dinners (that are normally a little loud), enjoying coastal sunsets, planning adventures, solo target runs, strong coffee and I find joy in the beautiful, messy moments of motherhood.
