On The Island

Firefly Gallery

Started in summer of 2025 by local yoga instructor Camillo Calderon, this open mic blends musicians, poets, writers, and comedians together. With a great community and fun vibes, there’s only full on support for anyone who decides to take the mic. And Camillo does a great job giving enough time for each performer. There will be dancing, and even if you’re not performing, you can participate from the side with an assortment of percussion instruments.

The Gateway

Located on the outbound causeway of Long Beach Island, The Gateway Restaurant & Lounge is a family-owned favorite (since 1940) that blends hearty eats, drinks, and island vibes.

Every other Tuesday throughout the summer, the Gateway welcomes a lively open mic night which gives local musicians a spotlight in a comfortable, relaxed setting. The event is typically scheduled around 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM. Check their events page for more information.

Off The Island

ManaFirkin

Every Wednesday evening, ManaFirkin comes alive with Chuck’d Up—an open mic hosted by the always-welcoming Chuck D, who’s passionate about showcasing local, young talent.

Chuck kicks things off with a few tunes of his own before handing the spotlight to a lineup of local artists, many of whom got their start here and now perform all over the island. Whether you’re a performer or just love great live music, it’s an easygoing night filled with good vibes, great beer, and delicious eats from a local food truck.

Music runs 6–9 PM, and anyone under 21 must be accompanied by an adult, so bring the whole crew and check it out!

The Union Market & Gallery

The Last Stand Open Mic at The Union Market & Gallery brings together the Tuckerton community with music, comedy, and poetry. Only a short drive from the island, it’s definitely worth the trip, even if you’re just going to spectate. The host, Chris Rockwell, has built a supportive community to give artists the confidence to get in front of that microphone and share their work. Plus, you’ll get to support a beautiful coffee shop that also serves delicious food. All ages are welcome, but it is not a censored event.

The Grapevine (Tuckerton)

Every Wednesday night, The Grapevine Restaurant & Lounge in Tuckerton opens its doors to local musicians for a laid-back acoustic open mic from 6–9 PM. Hosted by Don Brown, this midweek hangout has become a favorite for both seasoned performers and newcomers looking to share a few songs in an intimate, welcoming setting.

The focus here is on acoustic vibes—guitars, vocals, and stripped-down sets that let the music shine. Whether you’re playing your first tune, testing new originals, or just want to enjoy great food and local talent, The Grapevine is the spot.

Sign-ups typically start around 5:30 PM, and the night runs on good energy, good eats, and great company.
