Yoga

This summer, the Long Beach Island community invites locals and visitors alike to experience the joy of yoga without breaking the bank. Whether you’re new to yoga or a regular on the mat, LBI offers plenty of free or donation class options to help you get your yoga fix. You’ll need to bring your own mat, water, and any other props you like to use, like blocks or straps. Here is our list of free and donation-based yoga classes on LBI:

Beach Yoga with Island Wellness Center

Wake up with the sounds of the sea and the sun warming up your body to help rejuvenate your body, mind, and spirit. This beach yoga class is a combination of smooth stretches, breathing techniques, and a vinyasa flow. All ages and levels are welcome. It’s the perfect start to a magnificent day.

Vinyasa Flow and Stretch

Join Angie for an all-levels yoga class in Ship Bottom. Feel focused and centered while strengthening your mind and body. You’ll get a full-body workout, complete with plenty of core and strengthening work. This challenging class can be modified for all experience levels.

Yoga with Arielle

Start your day off right with a community yoga class. Enjoy an all-levels yoga flow to stretch your body and calm your mind. Arielle’s classes can be adjusted for all bodies and experience levels. Her supportive style of teaching will make you feel strong, confident, and invigorated.

Chair Yoga

Chair yoga is a gentle form of yoga that’s done while seated or using a chair for balance. This class helps to make the yoga practice accessible for everybody. Angie is known for bringing a sweetness and sense of humor to her classes while offering opportunities for students to go beyond their perceived limitations.

Prop Adaptive Yoga with Marion Cianci

Try yoga reconfigured with Marion. You’ll use props as tools to make traditional yoga poses more interesting. This outdoor class can be customized to each individual student’s needs. Great for aging bodies and anyone with an injury, but don’t expect senior citizen yoga – this active class will keep you working!

Sunset Yoga

Every Thursday night in July and August, come for the yoga, stay for the sunset! Enjoy an all-levels class presented by Hot or Not Yoga studio in Manahawkin. Class takes place in the pavilion overlooking the bay. Everyone is welcome.

These free and donation-based classes not only provide an opportunity to maintain your practice while on vacation but also offer a chance to connect with the community and fellow yoga enthusiasts. As you roll up your mat after each session, you’ll likely find yourself feeling more grounded, refreshed, and in tune with the island’s serene atmosphere. Remember to bring your own mat, stay hydrated, and consider making a donation when possible to support these valuable community offerings and our local teachers.
