A full rental calendar starts with a great rental listing, and there are some key things to keep in mind when advertising your property. Whether you’re a new LBI homeowner looking to rent out your home for the summer, or you’ve been listing your home for rent for as long as you can remember, we have a few tips and tricks to make your home stand out to renters!
If You’ve Got It, Flaunt It!
Whether your home is quaint and cozy, or luxurious and modern, it’s important to showcase the best features you have to offer! Maybe you have an awesome rooftop deck that overlooks the bay, or a refreshing pool in the backyard – whatever your best feature is, it should be the first photo renters see when they come across your listing.Â
If your home’s most appealing features are not something that can be captured in a photo, be sure to highlight them at the top of your listing description. For example, if you’re providing sporting equipment, or midweek housekeeping service, make sure that is the first thing renters read about your property!
Location, Location, Location!!!
Your home doesn’t have to be a beachfront property in order to be considered a desirable location. Maybe you have a bayside home that is a little further from the beach, but it’s walking distance to the best restaurant in town! Wherever your home is located, be sure to highlight nearby attractions to make the location as appealing as possible!
Address Renters’ Pain Points
The 3 most common complaints we hear from renters are that they don’t want to sit in Saturday traffic, they hate bringing their own linens, and pets are often not allowed. We’re not suggesting that you should suddenly allow pets to make everyone happy if you’re allergic, or if you’re just not a fan of furry friends. But, if you can take some worries off of your guests plate, it really goes a long way!Â
While many people are just looking for a place to stay, the amount of hospitality they receive when renting your home will be something they’ll remember forever, and will keep them coming back year after year!
As you can see, there’s quite a few small things you can do to make your listing pop! The goal is to get as many weeks rented as possible, and these little tips and tricks will help you go the extra mile!
