So, I don’t know if mercury is in retrograde or whatever but some crazy shit has been going on between me and my partner. Without the fine details of our relationship problems I’d like to just throw it your way. There has been a major separating wedge driven between the two of us over the last few weeks and sadly it almost totally overcame our divine connection. Among all the chaos we never did anything to really hurt one another and that takes trust to know at least that. Maybe this can serve as a reminder when things get tough with your sweetheart. Who cares about the show you missed or the dinner reservations you didn’t make, when the going gets tough try to find fresh air and solidarity with your love. For us there was one last shot in the dark- we cancelled our plans and planned to say goodbye. We walked down to the beach to say our peace and shared moment over an extinct beer on Saturday night, 2 of the last of their kind. Both of us nearly silent under a lighting storm while the orange-ish full-ish moon was just barely showing its grin through the thunder head clouds. Smiling at us as we watched in awe and in wonder of how beautiful our moment was. Both tearing up when the sky opened up and rain chased us off the beach like two kids hand in hand. All while knowing we were sharing a moment and only silence of the scenery had saved us. I know there is a lot to do and a lot going on but this moment reminded us why we are together and need to stay together. There is a peaceful magic in the sea breeze and sky of LBI. Sometimes it’s nice to escape the chaos and be absorbed by the calmness this island has to offer. I Hope these words find a home for someone out there in the land of summer fun. Live and love.
